Indians have been consuming Indian cow milk and its varied dairy products, such as butter, ghee, curd, etc. for centuries. Cow milk is an essential part of the Indian diet since centuries. Gir cow milk, also known as the Indian cow milk, distinctly contains the A2 protein as opposed to the A1 protein found in the milk of other cows, such as Swiss Holstein, Friesian, Jersey cows, etc. Indian cow is distinguishable in appearance due to a lump of flesh on its upper back (hump) just before the neck starts, and a flap of skin hanging down all along the throat.
Scientists reiterate that A1 milk producing cows are cross-bred to ensure higher production of milk from them. This has inevitably taken a toll on the quality of milk produced by these cows. The A1 milk is not as nutritious as the A2 type of milk from the Indian cows. The lack of proper nutrition affects the normal development and growth of the body.
On the other hand, the Indian cow milk with its A2 protein is highly nutritious and contains 16 essential nutrients in it. Vitamins, minerals, and proteins in A2 milk are required to make our body stronger and with a better immune system.

The A1 milk-producing dairy farms are highly commercialised and focus only on the quantity of milk being produced. This has resulted in the majority of consumers being fed with less nutrition in their daily diet.
Lack of proper nutrition in the daily milk intake is causing several disorders, such as heart diseases, immune system disorders, etc.
